My call center sometimes experience trunk failure and it is hard for our Service Desk to find it out easily. The objective of the Trunk Monitoring Server is to monitor Avaya trunk status and usage. When trunk becomes unavailable, the Trunk Monitoring Server will send emails to Service Desk and tier 2 engineers. For Service Desk to monitor trunk easily, trunk status and usage data is collected and sent to Nagios. When usage data is collected, it is also easily to decide whether trunk expansion is required or trunk is over provided at the moment.
The Trunk Monitoring Server is a server module. It uses TSAPI library to query trunk group usage, it sends alarm emails when it found trunk is unavailable. Nagios plugin is also developed to get the usage data from the Trunk Monitoring Server. The screen dump as follow, is that cool?
